it actually makes sense. we are all naturally programmed to look to your parents for a model of what you should seek in a mate. in other words, everyone has the Oedipus complex, but most people don't actually want to have intercourse with their parents - they simply want to have sex with someone LIKE their parents.
think of it this way: you did not really dream of your father - you dreampt of a man who was so much like your father that you could not tell them apart. on some level, this man is the man that you want for yourself, your "perfect man".
you can have the confidence to look your father in the face and know that you love him, and that someday soon you will find a man that you will love just as much.

by the way, 2 of my cousins have actually mentioned that one of the reasons that they love their husbands so much is because their men remind them of their uncle, my father. they loved my father very much and thought that he was really cool - then one day they met men who were very much like them, and what they liked in him they saw in them.
it's totally normal.
