The origin of the base 2 system is an interesting one. Before we get into it, we must first go over the origin of the base 10 system. The base ten system originated with people counting their fingers as their hands were always available for counting. Now the base 2 system was developed by the fools of ancient cultures. The village idiots were often recorded as using base 2. This method came from the counting of hands rather than fingers. The base 4 system came from people counting hands and feet. Base 5 came from a similar counting method with an extra addition, often the penis.

Arene substitution patterns, funnily enough, are patterns of substitution for arenes. Arenes are different from alkyls, in that arenes loop back on themselves whereas alkyls are straight chains. Both can include branches. Anyway, so if you substitute part of an arene, the name changes. This can be accomplished by nucleophilic substitution, electrophilic addition (if it's unsaturated), or using really really small tweezers.

Art's value comes mostly from the expression rather than the execution. What value does painting a historical figure have? There is no creativity or expression there. An angry, rambling man slapping his sweaty forehead against his yellowing bed sheets is more valuable to the art world than the 500th artistic rendering of Venus or whatever. Post-modernism is possibly the greatest thing to happen to art. Now people can truly experience self-expression. Art no longer requires the artist to have any talent, so there is no barrier to entry. Now more art can be produced and great works of expression the likes of have never before been seen thrust out into the public. With no boundaries (e.g., tastefulness, integrity, etc) to contain the vision of the artist, art can become the best in the west.

THE NEW MEMETICS

Think of your favorite meme. I'll wait. Got it yet? Good, because I've got news for you: IT'S NOT A MEME!
Memes are NOT pictures with words on them, lulzarandem sayings, or videos about rainbows, unicorns, and crying black people.
Memes are the DNA of your mind. NOT your brain! your MIND. Your memes dictate how your mind will receive and interpret sense data. They basically are the reason you see the world the way you do and act the way you do. They give you your personality and individuality. No two people who ever lived have had the same set of memes.

Let me try to explain it this way.
When your mind receives sense data, that little ball of information slams into your mindspace and dents it a little. Those dents affect how you will receive other balls of information in the future, where they will bounce and what other balls they'll bump into. The dents are the memes. The information itself is not a meme, and the thing the information came from is not a meme.

These are the three major ways your mind can receive new memes.

1. Transformation
This is when the mind receives memes from the environment. This process not mediated or facilitated by another mind. Transformation would have been the way Adam and Eve received memes. In layman's terms, you might call it discovery.

2. Conjugation
This is when one mind stuffs memes into another mind. Sometimes it takes a lot of violent, repetitive mind motion, and sometimes it's over much too quickly. One might call it "mind sex." Did you know that you've had mind sex with your parents? Lots of mind sex! You also had mind sex with every one of your schoolteachers on every school day! If you paid attention in class, that is. Kids these days, their minds are terribly oversexed. You also had mind sex with the author of the last book you read, and your workplace trainer, and lots of other people in your family probably... You're quite a mindslut, you know. You're having mind sex with me right now. nudge wink ;)

3. Transduction
This is the spread of memes via a vector. Transduction is characterized by rapid spreading. Vectors are pretty much always man-made. Examples of vectors include all those things I mentioned that are NOT MEMES. Memes carried by vectors share the characteristics of being easily accessible and having no value to the mind other than that of amusement.

Some interesting questions to think about
* Are babies born with memes?
* there were some other ones but I forgot

Sliced bread has existed as long as bread has, insofar as any form of bread can be sliced, however the first recorded instance of commercial sale of pre-sliced bread occurred in Paris in 1667. It was known as pain guillotinée (lit. "guillotined bread"), and was mostly used for unruly youths and prison inmates, who could not be trusted with a knife with which to slice their own bread. Hence, sliced bread was generally associated with undesirables, and was somewhat looked down upon by the general populace at the time. It was even a point of pride amongst children when they reached an age at which they could "guillotine" their own bread.

The phenomenon eventually found its way across the channel to London, where Earl Harold Toasterson helped it achieve fame by grilling sliced bread over a range to produce toast. Toast quickly became a staple breakfast meal, all but replacing alternatives such as porridge.

My Summer Vacation

This summer i had a fun vacation. My dad and mom cant afford to go anywhere. So i set up a tent in my bedroom. The campfire got out of hand though. Dad spanked me and told me we are lucky its covered. The hotel room we stayed in had a gamecube. I never had any video games before. I played kirby air ride for 20 hours straight. Then we stayed with my aunt. She raises sheep plus she is pretty good at making mac and cheese. I met a neighbor girl there who was actually not from there but just visiting. She called me Billy Nomates and i told her thats not my name but anyway who are you. So it turns out we played together a lot and made secret friendship tattoos on our knees even though she was a year older. Then she had to go back to her country. I went to the library read Encyclopedia brown and Marvin Redpost and the Great Brain. I wish i was the great brain. I also read a very sad book which made me very sad for a whole day which was someday angeline. I am in love with Angeline so i was sad because she is not real. Then I went back to school. Oh and also we moved back into our house.

Cancer Research Serendipitously Leads to Cure for Cancer

Al Etsy et al.

A team of violent researchers have been researching the Lower Lumbar of the human brain, double-blind. One found that a small diminutive bactoriaepove was inhabiting the epifeelial cell structures there since this exact date but only B.C.E. We know this because of carbon lie detector dating tests. This led indirectly to the discovery that through hypnoexcision the Stem cells from menopausal boobectomes can be used to create a phalicule called SHLOMO by its colleagues. here is its 3D aminal ball structure.

"Solid State Society".

I like this title, it makes me want to watch Ghost In The Shell. I believe
that we are already at the point when we can call ourselves a solid-state
society. Our everyday lives are dominated by the solid-state technology.

Almost all electronic devices that you own, that you see, that you use every
day are "solid-state". Integrated circuits, LEDs, LCD displays are all solid-
state. Your digital watch, your phone, your personal computer, your camera
and even an USB charger are solid-state.

The solid-state technology spurred the progress of humankind in all fields of
life and science. It contributed to the media explosion. It flooded our lives
with pictures, sounds and texts. It revolutionized our way of thinking. Humans
have to make an effort to filter out the unnecessary information. Our
consciousness is under constant siege by the external world. But in return
we quite literally have the keys to our future at our fingertips.

Only we ourselves are not IBM *). We are much more complex beings.

The Essence of Tanasinn

What is the difference between "thinking" and "feeling" (or perceiving something "intuitively")? These processes are usually viewed as two opposites (e.g. "Thinking/Feeling" in Myers-Briggs Type Indicator psychometric questionnaire). However, the same "circuitry" of your brain that is responsible for language comprehension is used in both of those. Simply put, it has two different modes for information processing: "slow" and "fast" (respectfully). During thinking, you are making a conscious effort to analyse a problem, in contrast with "feeling" that performs "automatically" and returns you a complete result.

Some of you might ask, "But which one of the two is the better one?" And that is a fairly simple question. If you are very young or not very knowledgeable... let's say, in a topic of your interest, thinking is the way to go. It takes considerably more valuable resources such as time and concentration, but in the end you are more likely to get a deeper and a thorough understanding of a subject. As you age, as you learn more along the way, your neural paths alter, creating optimized routes ― unique to your brain! ― thus allowing you to process a lot of casual and routine information intuitively. That is why you sometimes catch yourself unaware whenever you turned your electric appliances off and locked the door or not.

"But I thought..." Shut up and let me carry on with this lecture. Your intuition can be really powerful and advanced tool. But it depends on your brain development, if it is full of absurdity and nonsense, the result would be "OMG SO RANDOM!!" Well, at least people would see you as a jolly happy-go-lucky type, which is not bad for some, I suppose. On the other hand, if you train it the neural paths will be optimized in such ways, that its predictions (its output) might become even more precise than results of your "slow" thinking about the problem, plus freeing a lot of brain resources for something else.

The interesting whim about your brain is that it never shuts down. Indeed, night time is used for "maintenance tasks" like storing and cleaning up your memory ― that is why you wake up "with a clear head" after a good sleep - but you brain is still processing information. Which leads to a good advice: if you are stuck on some problem, think about it in bed until you fall asleep. In the morning your brain is likely to have a solution or two.

In conclusion, make sure that you get enough sleep and DON'T THINK! FEEL, AND YOU WILL BE TANASINN!

Western Society cannot have a "downfall" in a sense. Western Society is a series of ideals founded on the basis that man must complete a cycle of God, King, and Country. This starts as a series of monastic regions headed by a head patriarchette. Eventually reverence for the patriarchette's role evolves as time goes on until he is eventually a king. This starts of the feudal monarchies that Europe is known for. Once kings conquer many regions stability because harder to maintain. This gives way to the country. Country comes from the Latin word country meaning country. The country replaces the king as the main focal point. The government can be whatever. This doesn't matter. Since the strong king figure is gone, the people start experimenting with liberalism (a known disease) leading to chaos. Once the liberal hordes lay waste to the lands, they are starved. Only those with the divine grace of god survive. They start the cycle again with God.

America and Australia (as well as some worthless tracts of land) stand out from the cycle. They are in a perpetual state of Grompicio. This word comes from the Italian GRp

Commercial Real Estate Management

Investments in commercial real estate are not made in the hopes of collecting rent or improving the property to sell it for a profit as is the case with residential properties. Instead, all investments in commercial real estate are done with only goal in mind: to deny any potential competing commercial real estate brokerages a place to set up shop in your area. The creation of a regional monopoly is the only means by which commercial real estate can be profitable.

It is important to note that certain unscrupulous brokers will lie about the nature of their business in order to secure a lease, so always thoroughly research every client. If they claim to be a dentist for instance, demand to see their certificates and dental equipment. As a reminder, never agree to undergo dental surgery from a potential client as they may actually be a real estate agent who has chosen to take things too far. Dental work performed by unqualified individuals may result in serious medical complications.

Regardless of the medium, the primary determinant of quality is the users. Users need to care about their content. Users should be like-minded, but diverse enough that the community doesn't stagnate. Too few users and the community withers from lack of interest, too many users and it splits apart.

How does one organise groups of people? The inevitable historical solution is hierarchy, yet any Elitist Superstructure is prone to corruption and bias. Smaller groups with shared power can succeed for a short time, but usually crumble due to internal squabbling or by growing too big.

However, unlike real life, stakes are low on the internet. There are no important decisions to make, just silly jokes. It's a waste of time to develop a hierarchy to enforce quality. Any system of enforced quality either kills the community or leads to mediocrity of the masses. It's better to just hang out in small places with people with similar interests.

After working on this post for 20 minutes, I think it's kind of stupid and I don't really see my own point. And I wanted to address anonymity and post voting but I couldn't think of the best solution. So I'm burying it in this thread where nobody has to read it. Hooray!
