Sometimes I think it would be a good thing if another great war broke out, to give the brave and strong and clever people a chance to prove themselves and gather power and to cull the weak and cowardly. Unfortunately great wars usually end up having the exact opposite effect.

Something horrible happened in the late 70s to early 80s and we missed something when we liberalized our markets and international trade, leaving the living standards and employment opportunities of the first world lower and middle classes in serious peril.

I just don't know enough about economics to say what the fix is. Perhaps stagflation was entirely oil crisis-based and just as the problem was self-regulating we dismantled the postwar consensus. Perhaps we just made the wrong calls on liberalizing international trade, especially of currency. Perhaps it was all just a blip and only by rebuilding from a global conflict could conditions so good be enjoyed.

I will one day have to sit down with an economist or two and have them explain it to me, although I have a natural distrust for economists.

I don't usually play video games. The gameplay might have been boring since I turned it on novice, so there wasn't too much of a challenge. But that's kind of what I wanted. I think at one point they were arranged chronologically, and then by rating, and now it's more or less random. You also get replies going from newest to oldest, so if for some reason you want to read a chain from the beginning you have to open the whole thing, scroll down, and scroll back up. Not to mention the occasional @ or + or whatever that doesn't nest under its parent comment, meaning that you have no idea who they're replying to. And God forbid somebody change their name.

If the uploaded makes a comment on his/her video, it will be pinned to the top.

I've heard the first four(?) episodes of Lucky Star are quite bad. The director got fired or something, and supposedly it gets better once his replacement arrives.

138 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8303 07:47

I quite liked Lucky Star, but maybe mostly because it was the first anime I watched (apart from like Pokémon and things that were on kids TV). It's a bit like Seinfeld I guess

139 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8303 07:50

I can't remember what it's called but there's like a spin-off about two poor girls, and the lucky star ones show up in the background a couple of times. It was quite good too if you liked anime, and the episodes are short, I think there's a half-an-hour condensed version on youtube of all the episodes together

140 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8303 08:07

I'm watching Lucky Star soon, it has moved up to the 6th most prioritized in my mind backlog. The list can change at any moment, other shows on the list include Space Ghost Coast 2 Coast, Higurashi, Look Around You, and PriPara. (No particular order)

141 Name: (*゚ー゚) : 1993-09-8303 10:02

I always saw the eating conversation in the first episode as character introduction. I can see how someone might be irritated that the whole show isn't 23 minutes of just the intro, but it never really bothered me.

I would like to have seen more Misao and Hiyori and less Yutaka.

I got a chance to play Fallout 4 for a little bit at a friend's house. I made my character as fat and ugly as I could, and put almost all my points in Strength and Endurance. I swore to blindly whack everything I could with whatever melee weapons the game threw at me.

When I got out of the vault, I turned around and went opposite the direction of the quest marker. Eventually I came across a merchant, who I promptly bludgeoned to death. I took everything he had.

After more wandering, I came across somebody looking for a vault. I bludgeoned him to death. A nearby mercenary noticed, so I bludgeoned her to death too. By this point my friend was giving me strange looks. Then I found a cat in what I presume was the mercenary's house and began bludgeoning that too. I was about to finish the job, but my friend burst out, "Don't kill the cat you sick fuck!" I then realised why I should play games in the privacy of my own home.

My feet somehow ache and are numb at the same time and it makes it hard to keep my balance. Same thing with my hands, and it makes fine motor control quite difficult (absolutely amazing for a shut-in who spends 16 hours a day typing on the computer btw). My short term memory is gone. My neck constantly hurts like I'm using a cinderblock for a pillow. My memory is gone, I can't remember the names of things, I constantly misread similar-looking words in both English and Japanese. I am missing one ball and probably sterile in the other. I'll probably spend the rest of my (statistically now much shorter) life in constant anxiety that every little ache or twinge is the cancer I survived once coming back to finish the job. And people keep telling me "well at least you're not dead" like that's supposed to make me feel better.

With my fingers on the home row, index finger rubbing that little knob on F (Dvorak: U), my pinky can comfortably be on A or move down to the right third of Left Shift. Moving it to the side further creates an uncomfortable tension in my hand, which is also the reason I'm not so keen on using Right Shift.

One other thing about Dvorak, is that it moves {} even further up, replacing -=. There is a version called "programmer Dvorak" but I refuse to learn it. It switches number keys around, making symbols unshifted (and brackets more comfortable) — which sounds like something you want — but it also makes a complete mess of digits: http://www.kaufmann.no/roland/dvorak/ It's logical, yet, somehow, beyond perverted.

Sounds to me like I wouldn't mind {} on -=. The worst is () on shifted 90 due to their frequency of use, but I have some keys rebound and so () and [] are swapped. I could just

Now I have to go and do something else, as I have some bizarre self-aware feeling about discussing the minutiae of keyboard preferences in such depth.

Given that (almost?) all the typos are spread towards the edges of the standard qwerty layout, I would assume that it's smaller than >>796 is used to. The odd-ball is the t->r typo, repeated in ro' and compirwe', but perhaps >>796 types `t's with the right hand? I can think of two significant possibilities:

- The new kemborat is attached to one of these new-fangled more-portable-than-others.
- The new kemborat is actually larger (e.g. >>796 is moving from a kemborat without a numpad to one with), but the individual keys are smaller.

I don't believe the second option is probable, given the e->3 slur, which is distinctly vertical. It's certainly not a CrOS device, since those don't have Caps Lock keys. The probability space is too wide to be confident in anything else.

In fact, pissing in lifts IF I draw toilet signs on ground floor doors would be more of civil disobedience than storing illegal weapons in secrecy, as this could be seen as a call for the ordinary citizens to unite in demand for a widespread network of free public toilets. i have a custom xmodmap that creates another type of modifier key out of one of the left alt, and in that modifier key i have a ten-key pad overlaid on htn-gcr-*\+. The rest is programmer dvorak. Having the {} available like it is in programmer dvorak is beyond nice for latex, and very nice for other programming languages too.
I also turned a bunch of the top-right keys into dead keys so they wouldn't hurt my right pinky, and replaced them with shortcuts in the new overlay. it's been about three years since i settled on this layout and it works great. Actually, i think i must have modified the programmer dvorak slightly to get \ on my right ring finger. also very nice for latex and programming.

i'm wondering if i have any hope to transition to a woman, lol.

I had the same experience. Goreshit is fast but production value is terrible and all of his samples have varying bit rates which is not very appealing. When you take some loli sample at 192 and your drums are at 320 and you are rendering everything at .wav it makes a floppy sound. If you want fast stuff try late 90's early 00's. Stunt Rock, Venetian Snares. Try listening to more [MAD] material. Eventually you get burnt out though, drones are superior. I'd buy the Goreshit releases if I lived in the UK, shipping is ass.

I have a deep conflict at the moment between the preference for pure content, inspired by anonymous sites - where the highest ideal is to entertain others without incentives like gaining a reputation, and my distaste for the way sites like Wikipedia and Wikia don't really do much to credit the individuals who actually put in the content, instead just acting like it was sort of always there.

I don't think it's quite as hypocritical as it first appears (since really it's probably more a lamentation of the death of tangible individuals online [who'd make their own sites showing the stuff they found] amusingly at a time when individualism is taken as so important, and not so much a desire for any credit or adulation for myself.)

Don't worry, behind the scenes, Wikipedia is full of people who act like their goddamn name is on it anyway. WP:OWN is one of the biggest damn lies on the entire site.

I normally don't even keep toilet paper around because I just take a shit in the morning and get in the shower afterwards. Now that I've got some kind of horrific stomach flu this has backfired tremendously.
