No >>578, there are more than two types of people in the world. It helps no one to be reductive. Political issues affect people's lives, of course, no one is disputing that. That doesn't necessarily mean need to be addressed on an anonymous textboard, especially one about net culture and weeb shit. I don't have a problem with people having political opinions, it's the way they're articulated that rubs me the wrong way, with shallow, short-sighted assumptions and false generalisations. Saying "there's only two types of people" or "____ is something only ____ would say" or accusing people who disagree of being "leftists" or "nazis" and things just shuts down intelligent discussion.

It always seems to be American political opinions that are discussed as well, so it's even less relevant; and maybe it's just the American style of partisan politics but it just comes across like sports fans bickering about their favourite team. Personally I like DQN because we don't really talk about current-day meatspace very much, shitposts are more interesting than what you personally think about the stereotypes you have for "the left" and "the right".
