how does that work? they try to say it takes like 2 hours to enter REM sleep where they believe is when you dream
but i woke up and my phone screen was still on (set it to 30 min before turning off)
just doesnt make sense
furthermore that dream felt like it lasted far longer than 20 mins even though usually dreams feel shorter than the time slept
anyone else? any input or responses?
I get dreams like once every several months, can't relate

How were you feeling before you slept? Any more or less comfortable than usual? Have anything on your mind before nodding off? Time feels flexible to me when I'm sleeping so it's impossible to know just how long I've been dreaming for. For me it feels longer when my brain is focusing on something or shorter when it gets bored and skip details. Kind of like reading a novel as it's being written: It might read the whole page if it's good, or just thumbs to the end whenever the brain writes itself into a corner.
>>3 yeah i know it was 20 minutes because i looked at the time before i paused my anime because i was falling asleep
i do sleep weird i generally have trouble sleeping more than an hour or 2 at a time and wake up and go back to sleep multiple times a night (or more often day lol)
basically my circadian rhythm has been out of wack for years
>>4 i was rewatching pani poni dash but im pretty sure my dream wasnt related i cant really remember what it was about i just remember it felt like it was a lot longer than the time that had elapsed
Since we're talking about dreams, I'm just going to say it because why the hell not: last week I dreamed about the American version of Persona 4's Chie and Yukiko (like what in the damn?) plus a bunch of other girls that I don't really remember and one other specific smaller girl with long white hair (that later started shooting a rifle on a stage with some sort of aquarium backdrop) taking part in some sort of TV quiz show thing. The American Yukiko even showed off her big tits (really big and with inverted nipples).
Then a few days later I had a dream about making some sort of mini library someplace and I while I was organizing some ultra rare nonexistent mook books about samurai comics (think stuff like Hanzou no Mon), people started snatching books and that pissed me off.
The brain, a truly bizarre organ.
>looked at the time
Fair enough, then.
Figured if you hadn't been keeping track and actually did sleep longer, it'd solve both questions easy.
>i generally have trouble sleeping more than an hour or 2 at a time
Wouldn't that mean getting dreams before you hit 2 hours is something you regularly do already?
I dunno how this stuff works, but maybe you've trained your brain to speedrun what it's gotta do.
>>7 ye i have dreams over short periods of time pretty regularly but this time stood out since it was like powernap amount of sleep and on top of that the fact that the dream felt so long
when i woke up and saw my phone screen still on i was a bit surprised but then looking at the time i started trippin because the dream seemed way longer than the amount of time i was asleep
its just kinda crazy
crazier than my normal sleep/dream situation
i guess speedrun could be a good way of describing it lol
im not sure if it has anything to do with it but i have had pretty realistic/dreamlike closed eye visuals before from taking hallucinogens and also from benadryl but i wasnt under the influence of either when this happened the other day
