For all the /iaa/ out there, I made a script using only PHP and HTML that displays 2ch and 2chan on an iFrame, translates the page, and are able to post with a provided Japanese proxy. Should I give this out so people can use it on their websites, or should I put it on mine and advertise my site as a free translator and poster for 2ch + 2chan?
It uses Google's translate API for any consolation.
tldr; made a 2ch+2chan script that translates the page and lets you post, should i release or use for personal gain on my website
That's cool of you, anon. I honestly think that you should try getting in touch with whoever runs this place since you are probably a regular if you are willing to solicit opinion here in the first place. Channel4's outdated 2ch portal would be "alive" again with your script. There's the added advantage that frequent users here you could at least trust marginally more to not abuse it versus some random with their own site. You could always continue to develop it with more features and put an improved beta version up on your own site to advertise.

Might just do that, how do I contact bps?
i think its a good idea
but im not sure if people would pay you to use it

why would I make it not free? that sucks man. it's gonna be free. if bps doesnt return my contact, then I'll just share my site on /iaa/
Tired of waiting. I will post the link here as soon as I get home for the 2ch+2chan browser/poster.
It's called Futaba.
To further qualify, 2ch.net is known as 2channel or 2chan. 2chan.net is referred to as Futaba Channel.
hey man, did you change your mind? i was really hoping for something
The proxy broke recently, that's why I didn't post. To post and view iframe content, you need a proxy. I recommend 'http://proxyjapan.nu/' to view without scraping the internet with an actual proxy.
I will be opening up a BBS soon for discussion.
this is exciting
Is it really? I'm kind of flattered. I will be trying to add the proxy posting system again so you can see the page and post on 2ch without proxy.
How do I look at boards through this? It seems to translate the table of contents but whenever I click on a link to one of the boards it takes me to the actual site instead of translating it.
It's bugging out right now because the proxy is being a big ugly fart. I'll have it fixed by today. Sorry for the inconvenience. I'll try to fix the proxy service and the buttons today.
Big update. http://42chan.org/ is the website now. To post you will have to manually put in a proxy, something I'll try to fix today. To view 2ch in English, there is a link to a google translate content form. Have fun!
Today I plan on making a proxy server accessible so non-tech savvy people can post without manually putting in their own IP addresses. After that I'll get to writing an AJAX script where you can post by copying the link from the translate doc automatically and post with a proxy from your computer, so you don't have to alternate between multiple tabs.
From now on I will be using this trip and the nickname kami.
Alright! The website is public and its ready for use.
