[spelling]correct use of the language is important[punctuation] (18)

I have, in the past, been called by others on this board and elsewhere, a 'grammar nazi'. I do make an effort to correct other's spelling and punctuation mistakes, however I never do it with the intention of shaming the language offender over such a trivial matter. My aim is only to assist fellow members of this online community in perfecting their communication skills. Many of you have gone to great length to improve yourselves in this respect and I feel that I can assist you further by making these little corrections. Unfortunately many people are insulted by this, maybe they feel I am making light of their deficiencies or maybe they have had unpleasant language instructors in the past, I don't know. Please be assured that I have no negative intent in reminding you about things like "i before e except after c", I only hope for it to benefit you. Such strong anger comes back at me for this sometimes, I don't do this for thanks, but the hatred is such a surprise. Regardless of if you thanked me or not, your welcome.

The American spelling of aluminium is still dead wrong, no matter what IUPAC may claim.

I would also like to point out that my captcha for this post was vip, thus making its poster infallible by default.

>>17-san is correct. If, however, you are insecure about formatted dashes, I believe you can just format the nothing before the dash. This post is for me to test if the new admin's code fix-up has broken the technique (or whether preview respects it). What I have written at the start of this line is:

>>17-san
