Stopped on the way back to Boston from Mystic Seaport. Free admission and parking. But lots to see! If you are even remotely into subs or military hardware you WILL love this place. If you aren't, you should still find it interesting - lots of exhibits even the layman would enjoy. Real subs, cutaways of others, lots of pretty diagrams and pictures. And Santa was peaking out of one sub, which my daughter spotted and laughed and laughed. Tour the actual Nautilus with (free) supplied audio self-paced tour material.

The Knuckles segments did not influence open world games, if anything Zelda(1985 Famicom 1986 NES) did, even The Elder Scrolls I: Arena. Those games didn't have you flying around a poorly created level with a metal detector trying to find gems in every nook and cranny. Sega has given up on their fanbase, as evidenced by Sonic Boom. That game was the nail on the coffin for Sonic the Hedgehog. Take all this from me, a guy who took Japanese throughout high school and has an interest in Japanese culture, but doesn't worship it.
